Scouting report: The Knights had one of the fiercest defenses in the county last year, Coach Doug Case’s squad will be a physical bunch this year, too. The Knights feature three talented running backs in Dezmond Hodges, Jared Copeland and Jimmy Latham. Look for all three backs to get touches as Foothill will run behind an experienced offensive line and features a first-year starting quarterback in either Nach Vujnov or Ammon Olson. Defensive end Logan Wetherholt will lead a defense looking to frustrate offenses like it did a season ago. In a four-team league, the Knights’ league-opening matchup with Villa Park on Oct. 23 will be a pivotal contest. Like it has the last three seasons, the winner could prevail as the eventual league champion.
