OCVarsity’s team preview for 2016:
DANA HILLS DOLPHINS
Coach: Phil Skinner
Last season: 0-10 overall, 0-4 South Coast League.
Scouting report: The Dolphins, who were 0-8 in two seasons in the South Coast League, move to the Sea View League. They have 13 returning starters, including quarterback Corey Cisowski who threw for 1,139 yards and was all-league second last year. The Dolphins should be able to move the ball on the ground, too. Coach Phil Skinner likes the potential of Dana’s defensive front seven that is led by linebackers Julian Casillas and Joe Wilske who were all-league first- and second-team selections, respectively, last year. Dana Hills would be in Division 10 if it reaches the playoffs.
Bottom line: This team perhaps needs confidence more than anything else, and it could get it with a couple of nonleague wins. A .500 season would be a solid accomplishment given the program’s recent history.
Players to watch: Julian Casillas, LB, Jr.; Corey Cisowski, QB, Jr.; Eric Fellenzer, K/P, Jr.; Joe Wilski, LB, Jr.
