Coach: Ernie Bucher (second year, 5-5)

Last season: 5-5 overall, 1-3 league

Scouting report: The Cougars could be in line to make a push for the playoffs. Coach Ernie Bucher has 12 starters returning, but a lot could depend on the development of quarterback Gavin Pruett. He is surrounded by a good group of receivers, led by Adam Gordon and Jordan Bocko. Bocko rushed for 485 yards and seven touchdowns a year ago. Bucher thinks the secondary, running back, wide receiver and defensive line are all areas of strengths for the Cougars. That’s a good starting block. They’re inexperienced on the offensive line and at linebacker. This team appears capable of improving on last season’s league record.
