Today will be an important and memorable day for many of the county’s high school athletes, and OC Varsity is here to help you keep track of it.

Dozens of county athletes will sign a scholarship offer – officially known as a National Letter of Intent – on the first day of the fall signing period. The period lasts one week, and it’s available to most athletes. (Football, soccer and boys water polo athletes are not included in this signing period.)

OC Varsity’s reporters will have signing news and updates, starting in the morning, in the OCVarsity.com blog. (Click here to go to the blog.)

We’ll have photographers at some of the local signing events, and those photos will be part of an online slideshow at OCRegister.com.

We’ll also have extensive coverage, including a list of the O.C. signees, in Thursday’s Sports section in the Register.

You can email your signing news and photos to us. (Photos and signing news should be emailed to preps@ocregister.com.)

Because today is Veterans Day, many schools are closed and will have events and signings later in the week. We’ll include coverage of those signings in Saturday’s OC Varsity section in the Register.
