OCVarsity’s boys water polo preview for 2015:

Jakob Colladay, Laguna Beach, Sr.: Colladay has been an All-CIF performer, but after the graduation of several key seniors — 15 to be exact — the spotlight falls on him.

Hannes Daube, Orange Lutheran, So.: The rising Newport Harbor transfer features a big arm, and is active enough to contribute in multiple areas.

Thomas Dunstan, Mater Dei, Sr.: The U.S. national team likes Dunstan as a left-hander, but look for him to contribute in several ways for the Monarchs.

Ash Molthen, Orange Lutheran, So.: The left-hander’s exciting play makes him increasingly a leader and magnet for other players. He also might be the best shooter in the county.

Quinten Osborne, Huntington Beach, Jr.: Osborne started to emerge last season as a force at center, and he could dominate this fall. If that happens, his teammates will get more open looks on the perimeter.

Austin Sechrest, Capistrano Valley, Sr.: The reigning Sea View League MVP almost does it all for the Cougars. Last season, he scored 147 goals and added 104 steals.

Bennett Williams, Dana Hills, Sr.: The recent Stanford commit racked up 125 goals and 72 steals last season to help the Dolphins take the South Coast. What will he do for an encore?

Luke Wyatt, Mater Dei, Sr.: During stretches of the summer, the lefty looked like the most improved player in the county. If his consistency and confidence lock in, he will post monster numbers.
