First-team All-County defensive end Rasheed Williams of Mater Dei and record-setting quarterback Nick Brown of Rancho Alamitos highlight the North roster for Brea Lions Orange County All-Star Game on July 9.
The game will be played at Orange Coast College at 7:15 p.m.
Williams, who signed with Idaho State, led a strong Mater Dei defense with seven sacks and 21 quarterback hurries.
Williams is one of nine North players from the Trinity League. Mater Dei, Servite and Orange Lutheran each have three players apiece on the 36-man roster.
Brown set a county-record with 52 touchdown passes last season. He also threw for a county-leading 4,120 yards in Rancho Alamitos’ spread, no-huddle attack.
The North squad will be coached Rancho Alamitos’ Mike Enright, who guided the Vaqueros to a runner-up finish in the CIF-SS Southern Division.
Brown will join a North backfield that features Moby Contreras of Los Amigos who led the county in rushing (2,382 yards).
The North also will feature second-team All-County offensive linemen Emil Graves of Los Alamitos. Other second-team All-County selections: defensive back Austen Christian of Garden Grove, punter Nick Buras of Cypress, who will also play quarterback, and wide receiver/defensive back Dominic Vaccher of Troy.
Last year, the North snapped a five-year losing streak in the all-star game by defeating the South, 12-6. The South roster is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
