He took part in all five Timberwolves’ touchdowns in their 42-28 win that clinched a playoff berth. Abel, a 6-foot and 180-pounds quarterback, threw four touchdown passes and ran for another. He scored on a 48-yard run on Northwood’s first offensive play of the game. Abel finished with 81 rushing yards and completed 15 of 20 passes for 220 yards with no interceptions. He leads the Pacific Coast League in completions (85), touchdown passes (11) and average passing yards a game (189).
