Aliso Viejo Girls Softball’s 10U Fast & Furious team had a successful 2016 Fall Select season going 26-0-1, which included winning both the Laguna Niguel Pumpkin Tournament Championship in October and the Aliso Viejo-Mission Viejo Turkey Tournament Championship in November.

In the Laguna Niguel Pumpkin Tournament, Fast & Furious defeated Irvine (10-0), Orange Canyon (12-4), San Clemente (13-0), Mission Viejo (8-0) before beating Rancho Trabuco (6-2) in the Championship game.

In the Aliso Viejo-Mission Viejo Turkey Tournament, Fast & Furious trumped Laguna Niguel (16-3), La Mirada (7-1), Huntington Beach (2-1), Rancho Trabuco (10-6) and then faced La Mirada again in the championship game, in which Fast & Furious claimed a 2-1 victory when the game was called due to rain.

The Fast & Furious team contains many of the same players that excelled through the region this past summer during All-Stars, where the team took first place in the Aliso Viejo Battle by the Beach and the San Clemente Memorial Day tournaments, as well as placing seventh in “C” States, and placing fifth in “C” Regionals.

Coached by Chris Dunakin (manager), Elliott Sarabia and Dan Zamora, the 2016 Fall Select Fast & Furious players include Aozora Hamada, Grace Sarabia, Shannon Nettekoven, Mariah Peters, Mia Krueger, Josie Zamora, Katelyn Dunakin, Gabby Marti, Grace Cooney, Keira Czochanski, and Taylor Nelson.

Aliso Viejo Girls Softball is heading into its 25th year, with 2017 spring registration open online until Dec. 15, open to girls 4 to 14 in Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, Lake Forest, Laguna Beach, Dana Point and surrounding communities in south Orange County.
