Proposal to add name to war memorial

City Council member Dave Sullivan has asked that the name of A.A. Woodard be added to the Huntington Beach War Memorial before Memorial Day. On Dec. 7, 1941, Woodard, a machinist’s mate 2nd class who lived in Huntington Beach, was killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor. His name had been inadvertently left off the memorial. The error was discovered by Jerry Person, city historian. The City Council was expected to vote on Sullivan’s proposal Monday.
