It will be a CIF Southern California Regionals semifinals doubleheader at Mater Dei on Tuesday.
The Mater Dei girls basketball team (25-9) plays Valencia – the one near Magic Mountain, not the Placentia one – (29-5) at 6 p.m. in a Division II semifinal. They have not played each other this season.
The Mater Dei boys (32-2) play St. Augustine of San Diego (28-4) at 7:30 p.m. in an Open Division semifinal. Mater Dei defeated St. Augustine twice, in the Diablo Inferno tournament championship game in December and at the Nike Extravaganza at Mater Dei last month.
St. Augustine upset Sierra Canyon of Chatsworth on Friday in the Open Division first round.
Admission will be $10 for adults and $6 for students and for senior citizens (expect to show valid ID), and for children ages 2-11.
