FIRST TEAM

Courtney Ford

Villa Park, Senior, 5-9, Guard

Season highlights: Ford, who was the co-MVP of the Century League with Brea Olinda’s Jeanette Pohlen, helped lead her team to its first league title since 1998 and its first trips to the CIF-SS Division II-AA finals and the Southern California Division II regional finals. Ford was a physical presence on defense, and she had an array of moves on offense.

Notable: She is being recruited by Cal State Dominguez Hills, Humboldt State and UC San Diego.

Quotable: “Courtney is the most competitive player I have ever coached. When people see her in street clothes and when teachers have her in class they don’t believe the things that she does on a basketball floor. She is a player that you have to see to believe.” – Villa Park coach Kim Cram-Torres

She has played in four Division II state championship games in her career, helping Troy win three. She scored 15 points, including 13 of her team’s first 19 points, to help the Warriors beat Villa Park, 34-28, in the Southern California Division II regional finals. She is the ultimate pest on defense and a fearless competitor.

Notable: Yee, who has committed to Columbia, made first-team All-County for the second consecutive season. She has made first-team All-Freeway League four times.

Quotable: “Sara has had a tremendous four-year run at Troy. Sara has worked hard to get the most out of her abilities and physical talents. I have never seen a girl her size dominate the game like she has. She consistently has proven to be a winner, and we will miss her and all the little and big things she brings to our program.” – Troy coach Kevin Kiernan

Rheya Neabors

Troy, Senior, 6-1, Forward

Season highlights: Versatility is the word that comes to mind when talking about Rheya. She can do everything on the court from her multitude of post moves, ability to knock down the three and take players off the dribble. She also averaged almost three steals. One of her best games came against Long Beach Poly, when she had 17 points and eight rebounds.

Notable: Rheya will continue her basketball career in the Pac-10 after signing with Arizona. She is a three-time All-Freeway League first-teamer.

She has consistently drawn the double teams and has been the best post passer here at Troy High School, averaging over three assists her last three seasons. Add to this her ability to hit the three-pointer and guarding people on the perimeter, making us a great defensive team.” – Troy coach Kevin Kiernan

Rhaya Neabors

Troy, Senior, 6-1, Forward

Season highlights: Rhaya is just as versatile as her twin sister. The Neabors twins created matchup nightmares for opposing coaches. Try to stop Rheya, and Rhaya stepped up. Try to stop Rhaya, and Rheya stepped up. Rhaya had one of her biggest games in the Southern California regional semifinals against Mt. Miguel of Spring Valley when she scored 18 points.

Notable: Rhaya, like her sister, signed with Arizona. She is first-team All-County for the second consecutive season. She is a three-time All-Freeway League first-teamer.

Quotable: “Rhaya’s versatility and her ability to play inside and outside gave us a big edge, especially defensively. Rhaya played every position for us this year and created tough matchups for opposing teams. Rhaya is very talented and will end up playing guard in college.” – Troy coach Kevin Kiernan
