On Friday, Jan. 27, Bineke Bissiri, our tennis activities director, organized and directed a round robin doubles event. The signup for the event was filled in early January. At 9 a.m. 32 players gathered for coffee and fruit provided by the tennis club committee. After two hours of play, the winners were Inge Papich and Roger Dunbar.
Many people asked to have the event scheduled again; that is sure to happen.
Following the round robin, the first $3 hotdog barbecue of 2012 welcomed an overwhelming crowd, serving over 100 hotdogs to a lot of people. Remember to mark your calendar for the last Friday of the month at 11:30 a.m. Bring a friend.
A free tennis clinic is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 6 at 11a.m. If you are new to the Village or a long-time resident, this is your opportunity to get acquainted with our tennis instructors. If you used to be a tennis player, come out and meet someone to hit with in practice.
The men’s team will host a home match Monday, Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m.
