It’s South Coast Tournament week in boys water polo.
The first-round schedule for Thursday, Sept. 21, can be found below. The winners of the first two games and the winners of the third and fourth games will play in the second round Thursday night at 7 and 8.
The winners of those second-round matches will face off in the quarterfinals Friday, Sept. 22, at 6 p.m.
All the quarterfinalists advance to Newport Harbor on Saturday, Sept. 23, for the tournament finale.
Last year, Harvard-Westlake won the tournament by defeating Huntington Beach in the finals, 9-5, behind 19 saves by Sam Krutonog. Eventual CIF-SS Division 1 champion Orange Lutheran lost by four in the semifinals to Harvard-Westlake and then edged Corona del Mar in the third-place match.
Mater Dei won the tournament in 2015.
