The CIF Southern California Regional boys volleyball playoffs feature two first-round rematches for some Orange County teams.
Newport Harbor is home against Tesoro in a regional Division I first-round match Tuesday. Newport Harbor beat Tesoro 3-0 on Feb. 28.
St. Margaret’s is home against Carlsbad in a Division II first-round match Tuesday. St. Margaret’s lost to Carlsbad on March 18.
All CIF SoCal Regional first-round matches are Tuesday at 6 p.m. There are three rounds to the regional playoffs, with the second round Thursday and the finals Saturday.
All matches are at the home site of the higher-seeded team.
Corona del Mar is home Tuesday against Upland in Division I. El Dorado is at Fresno Christian in Division 3 on Tuesday.
Newport Harbor won the regional Division I championship last season. Newport Harbor won this year’s CIF Southern Section Division 1 championship Saturday with a 3-0 sweep of Corona del Mar.
Also on Saturday, El Dorado lost to Hart in the CIF-SS Division 4 final, St. Margaret’s lost to El; Segundo in the Division 3 final and Tesoro lost to Upland in the Division 3 final.
The first-round schedule Tuesday (all matches start at 6 p.m.):
Division I
Tesoro at Newport Harbor; Mira Costa at Cathedral Catholic; Scripps Ranch at Loyola; Upland at Corona del Mar.
Division II
Palisades at El Segundo; Del Norte at Chatsworth; Carlsbad at St. Margaret’s; Hart at Torrey Pines.
Division III
Carson at Poway; El Dorado at Fresno Christian; Wiseburn-Da Vinci at San Luis Obispo; Paraclete at Eastlake.
Division IV
Westchester at Granite Hills; Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica at Rancho Dominguez; Glendale Adventist at South Gate; Elizabeth West Hills.
