Roger Holmes has resigned as the boys basketball coach at Fountain Valley but will continue as an athletic director at the school.
Holmes, 63, stepped into the Barons coaching position in June 2022 when D’Cean Bryant departed to accept the boys basketball coaching job at Sage Hill.
It was the second Fountain Valley coaching stint for Holmes, who was a standout player at the school. Holmes also has coached at Marina, Ocean View and Santa Margarita.
Fountain Valley this season finished 18-11 overall and 2-4 in the Surf League. The Barons lost to Simi Valley in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 2AA playoffs.
