BOZEMAN, Mont. — Casey Durham and Carlos Taylor keyed a second-half comeback to lift Montana State to a 74-54 men’s basketball victory over Long Beach State on Tuesday evening.

The Bobcats (1-1) outscored the 49ers (0-2), 42-19, in the second half to earn the victory.

Donovan Morris led Long Beach State with 14 points.

“They turned up the heat a little bit in the second half,” said 49ers coach Dan Monson. “We weren’t great defensively in the first half, but we were good enough to win this game.

“To give up 42 points in the second half is very disappointing.”

The Bobcats shot 63 percent (17-27) from the field in the second half, as Durham scored 11 of his team-high 19 points in the half.

Durham was 4 for 5 from 3-point range as MSU was 8 for 20 (40 percent) overall from 3-point range.

Taylor added 16 points, Divaldo Mbunga 14 points and nine rebounds and Adrian Zamora added 10 points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
