Mitchell Barnes, football, basketball and volleyball
Barnes’ basketball coach Nick Racklin said: “Mitchell was the toughest player I’ve coached thus far, a workhorse to say the least. His physical presence is irreplaceable, and his competitiveness is not easily matched. Number 5 will be missed.”
Barnes’ volleyball coach Paul Munoz said “Mitch Barnes was such a breath of fresh air to our program. This guy is the full package. He was the leader on our team, motivator on and off the court, and an all around amazing athlete.”
Kirsten Andersen, soccer and track
Andersen’s soccer coach Kyle Davidson said “Kirsten Andersen has been one of the hardest-working players that has ever come through the Marina girls soccer program in seven years.
“She has become a bar to measure up to for many of our younger players for the right reasons. She is truly a selfless player who would never need an ounce of praise to be who she is today. I could not picture a more dedicated player to Marina High School than Kirsten Andersen. Kirsten will continue playing soccer in college at Kansas Wesleyan University.”
