OCVarsity’s Kenny Connolly makes five predictions about the East Valley Division playoffs:

1. Which four teams will make it to the East Valley semifinals? St. Margaret’s, Silver Valley, St. Anthony, Grace Brethren

2. Which team will win the East Valley title?  St. Margaret’s will beat Grace Brethren in the championship game.

3. Which team will be the “surprise” team in the East Valley? Brethren Christian.

The Warriors two losses of the season came against the division’s top two seeds (St. Margaret’s and Grace Brethren). A second round revenge matchup at home against Grace Brethren would be one heck of a game to watch.

4. Which player will be the postseason MVP in the East Valley? Oscar Gomez, St. Margaret’s.

He was the only back in Orange County who topped the 100-yard mark every time he stepped onto the football field. Look for Gomez to get 20 to 25 carries a game in the postseason. He’ll be instrumental in St. Margaret’s winning another CIF title.

5. Which O.C. team (or player) shouldn’t be overlooked in the East Valley playoffs? Conner Miller, Brethren Christian.

The Warriors gunslinger can’t be counted out of any game. He’s got 42 touchdown passes going into the postseason. He very well could reach 50 when it’s all said and done.
