Brea Olinda girls basketball coach Stephanie Anderson has resigned after one season, she confirmed.
Anderson served as associate head coach under Jeff Sink in 2016-17, his final season.
“Though the Ladycat program was a great place to call home for a while, it was in the best interest for myself and family to resign when the season concluded,” said Anderson, the former coach at Calvary Chapel of Downey and assistant at Hope International and Whittier College.
Brea Olinda finished 21-5 this past season and earned a share of the Crestview League title, but lost to Valley View 63-52 in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs.
The Ladycats will graduate six seniors, including key players Stephanie Lee, Casey Fust, Rilee Price, Ashley Gustafson and Sydney Skipper, from this season’s team.
Anderson replaced interim coach Bob Walton, a former assistant coach under Sink, Brea Olinda’s former longtime coach.
Brea Olinda has captured 10 state titles and 17 CIF-Southern Section titles.
The Ladycats are the second high-profile girls basketball program in Orange County with a coaching vacancy. JSerra is seeking a replacement for Mary Rossignol, who departed after 12 seasons.
