Mater Dei basketball star Stanley Johnson today signed his letter of intent with Arizona and sent it off to the university, Mater Dei coach Gary McKnight confirmed this morning.
Johnson, a 6-foot-7 guard/forward, is ranked by ESPN as the No. 9 prospect in the nation. He was Orange County player of the year last season.
He had narrowed his plentiful college choices last week to Arizona, Kentucky and USC. Johnson announced his decision on an ESPNU national telecast Friday.
Arizona has signed other great Mater Dei players in the past, including Reggie Geary and Miles Simon. Both were county players of the year.Read the rest of this entry »
