MISSION VIEJOIt was apparent from the first offensive play of the game which team would be heading home with the victory.
St. John Bosco senior running back Laurence Doss raced 75 yards for the opening score as the Braves went on to beat JSerra, 65-21, on Friday in Trinity League action.
Doss ran the ball only three times for 83 yards before Coach Kiki Mendoza decided to rest his starter and give some reps to the backups.
St. John Bosco (3-4, 1-1) sophomore Austin Mahr and junior Leon Brooks both impressed in route to solid performances. Mahr finished with 96 yards on eight carries and three touchdowns, and Brooks ran for 78 yards on seven carries with a touchdown.
On a positive note for the Lions (2-5, 0-2), the second quarter touchdown connection between sophomore quarterback Bobby Brown and junior Adam McCanna was the first points that JSerra has scored in Trinity League play.
Brown completed 18 for 35 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns.
