Esperanza 28, Tesoro 7
LAS FLORES - Esperanza proved offensive simplicity can yield dominating results.
Running back Reid Williams rushed for 98 yards and scored four touchdowns, while Jared Moore added 123 yards, as the No. 7 Aztecs (5-0) overwhelmed Tesoro, 28-7, Friday night at Tesoro High.
"We're known as a running team, and the offensive line opened holes," said Williams, who helped the Aztecs rush for 299 yards as a team. "It always feels good to step up and win on the road."
It was a quick start for the host Titans (1-3), who took the opening kickoff and marched 71 yards in seven plays, culminating in a 15-yard touchdown run by tailback Adam Albitar to give the Titans a 7-0 lead.
After blocking a Titans field-goal attempt, Williams and Jared Moore set the tone for the evening, sparking a six-play, 45-yard drivewith quick bursts up the middle. Williams' 3-yard TD run tied the score at 7.
