DANA POINT- On the strength of four touchdown passes from Duke-bound quarterback Sean Schroeder, Dana Hills remained in the hunt for a South Coast League playoff spot with a 57-14 homecoming victory over Aliso Niguel on Friday night. (Full game stats.)
Dana Hills (5-3, 2-1) scored 23 points in the first quarter to put the game away early.
Schroeder, who was 7 of 14 for 156 yards, hit Connor St. Clair with a 49-yard touchdown pass and Dylan Denso from 3 yards out in the first 12 minutes of play. Schroeder added a 24-yard strike to Jonathan Garcia before halftime.
Brett Giesen, who rushed for 179 yards on 11 carries, had scoring runs of 27 and 13 yards in the first half as the Dolphins took a 43-0 lead into the locker room.
Schroeder ended his night with a 10-yard scoring pass to Peter Adams, who had three receptions for 66 yards.
Aliso Niguel (0-8, 0-3) scored twice in the fourth quarter on 16-yard passes from Joe Galosic— who finished 22 of 38 for 240 yards — to Russ Abdullah, who led the Wolverines with 11 receptions for 127 yards.
