Middlebrooks sparks Fountain Valley's third-quarter blitz

ALISO VIEJO - Three third-quarter touchdowns by Fountain Valley allowed the visiting Barons to pull away and post a 48-14 victory over Aliso Niguel on Friday night.

Kyle Middlebrooks, who had first-half scoring runs of 31 and 2 yards, wasted little time getting this third, taking the first play from scrimmage 80 yards up the gut into the end zone.

Middlebrooks would end the night rushing for 176 yards on just 12 carries. Less than three minutes later, Dylan Garcia went 31 yards on an inside reverse for a score to extend the lead to 34-7 with 9:22 still remaining in the third.

After forcing a short punt, the Barons (3-1) capped a 40-yard, 4-play drive with a 28-yard scoring toss from Dominic Ragland to Artie O'Keefe, the duo's second hookup of the game.

Garcia would close the Fountain Valley scoring early in the fourth on a 1-yard run.

Aliso Niguel (0-4) marched 80 yards in little more than five minutes on the ensuing drive, capped with Joe Golarsic's 9-yard scoring pass to Russ Abdullah.
