MISSION VIEJO Tesoro went on the offensive with a balanced attack to cruise to a 52-14 victory over Capistrano Valley on Friday night in South Coast League play at Capistrano Valley High.

Tesoro (4-3, 2-0) was led by junior quarterback Robbie Picazo, who completed 9 of 14 passes for 152 yards and a touchdown.

Adam Albitar racked most of his yards in the second half and finished with 113 yards on eight carries including a score that was set up by a 71-yard run with just under two minutes in the fourth quarter.

Tailback Kyle Mino also worked for a large gain that resulted in a 64-yard rushing score. He finished with 89 yards on eight carries.

The Cougars (4-2-1, 0-1-1) were penalized just five times, compared to Tesoro’s 15. But two penalties negated large gains that potentially could have switched the momentum and allowed Capo Valley to score.

Austin Messick's lone catch was a 64-yard touchdown reception from Cougars quarterback Parker Finley midway through the third. And Messicks's 56-yard punt return helped set up a 12-yard touchdown pass from Finley to Lee Casas with 9:55 left in the fourth.
