SPECIAL TO OCVARSITY.COM

LA HABRA- Brett Bartolone scored touchdowns each of the first four times he touched the ball Friday night as La Habra sank Sonora, 32-3, in a Freeway League game at La Habra High.

On the first play after a safety, quarterback Cody Clements connected with the sophomore wide receiver on a 61-yard strike for an 8-0 lead.

"It goes back to the speed training we did this past offseason," Bartolone said. "We worked pretty hard."

Bartolone followed that with a 46-yard catch-and-run for another touchdown. A 37-yard run and a 72-yard reception for touchdowns closed out the first half.

The wideout for the Highlanders (2-0, 6-1), who won their third game in a row, had three catches for 179 yards and 212 all-purpose yards in the game.

Sonora (1-1, 2-5) was largely ineffective, gaining only 30 total yards in the first half.

Quarterback Derek O'Hanlon finished with 61 passing yards.
