Highlights from Thursday's games:

In the Sea View League:

No. 15 Foothill 9, No. 23 Northwood 2: The Knights (13-6-1, 3-1) banged out 11 hits, including solo home runs by Hallie Wilson and Taylor Cantillo in the fourth inning, to move into a tie for first place in the league.

Foothill got a strong performance from Anna Avalos, who went the distance, allowing four hits. Avalos (11-5) struck out six.

Wilson was 2 for 3 with three runs scored and an RBI and Cantillo was 3 for 3 with three runs scored and two RBI.

Northwood (11-11, 3-1) was led by shortstop Ari Morrison, who was 2 for 3 with a triple and a run scored and catcher Lindsay Thomas, who was 2 for 3 with an RBI.

No. 21 El Toro 7, Huntington Beach 5: Lauren Chamberlain went 3 for 4 with a homer, a triple and three RBIs as the Chargers (10-14, 2-2) took out the visiting Oilers (9-11, 1-3).

In the Sunset League game:

No. 6 Esperanza 6, Fountain Valley 0: Kelsea Roth his a two-run homer in the third and a grand slam in the seventh and Chelsey Anderson recorded a three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts to help the visiting Aztecs (14-9-2, 3-1) beat the Barons (9-10, 0-4).

In the South Coast League:

No. 1 Tesoro 1, No. 20 Dana Hills 0: Kristin Omori had an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth and Sami Pappas recorded a three-hit shutout with two walks and three strikeouts for the Titans (19-0, 4-0) in a victory over the visiting Dolphins (13-8, 1-3).

No. 18 Mission Viejo 4, Capistrano Valley 3: Courtney Slye went 3 for 4 with two RBIs, Tori Speer hit a two-run homer in the first and the Diablos (14-9, 3-1) picked up a run in the top of the ninth to pull out a victory over the host Cougars (5-17, 0-4).

In the Freeway League:

La Habra 8, Fullerton 3: Julia Pecina went 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs and Shanin Thomas went 2 for 2 with a double and two RBIs as the Highlanders (13-7, 3-1) knocked off the Indians (12-10, 3-1) to move into a tie for first place.

Sunny Hills 16, Buena Park 1: Steffanie Elliot belted a grand slam in the second, Yolando Rios went 3 for 4 with three runs, a homer and three RBIs and Emily Gonzalez went 3 for 4 with two runs and four stolen bases as the Lancers (10-5, 2-2) picked up a mercy-rule victory over the visiting Coyotes (1-9, 0-3).

In the Pacific Coast League:

No. 7 Laguna Hills 7, Irvine 4: Kylee Lahners went 3 for 4 with a double, a run and two RBIs, Lauren Lastrapes went 2 for 4 with a home run, three runs and two RBIs and Terry Rahe went 1 for 4 with two RBIs to power the visiting Hawks (15-5-2, 3-1) past the Vaqueros (11-7, 2-2).

In the Garden Grove League:

No. 19 Rancho Alamitos 9, La Quinta 3: Kari Gutierrez went 2 for 4 with a home run, two runs and three RBIs as the Vaqueros (13-4-1, 4-0) remained undefeated in league with a victory over the host Aztecs (11-9, 2-2).

Garden Grove 15, Santiago 0: Marlena Fernandez went 3 for 3 with a solo homer and Monique Yslas went 4 for 4 with two RBIs for the visiting Argos (10-11, 4-0) in a mercy-rule victory over the Cavaliers (6-8, 0-3).

In the Empire League:

No. 24 Valencia 4, No. 25 Kennedy 3: Howard College-bound Melanie Ramos' RBI single in the bottom of the eighth gave the Tigers (13-5, 3-1) a victory over the visiting Fighting Irish (8-8, 0-4).

In the Orange League:

Savanna 4, Western 1: Tanya Dowler scattered six hits and struck out 13 as the visiting Rebels (10-10, 4-0) beat the Pioneers (9-4, 3-1) to take sole possession of first place.

Anaheim 14, Century 1: Malena Corral went 3 for 4 with two home runs and four RBIs to lift the visiting Colonists (5-5, 1-2) over the Centurions (3-8, 0-2).
