The Calhoun Wrap-up: Week 10 in review
Check out his comments on the week, the stat leaders and his stars of the week.
Playoffs?! Playoffs?!
Yes, we have reached that time of the year. It is win or go home. Survive and advance. Are you ready?
My game face is on and will stay on until the end of the CIF State Bowl games, which I believe are in January (or mabye December).
Welcome to another edition of my final thoughts on the week.
Sunset League does it again: Last season we had a five-way tie for first. This year, we ended with a three-way tie for second, thanks to Los Alamitos defeating Fountain Valley and Newport Harbor edging Esperanza. And you knew it was going to happen this way. However, this time, it appears that the Sailors should get the at-large berth.
Looking ahead: Anybody else thinking that we might get a Mission Viejo-Mater Dei first-round matchup? There always seems to be a couple of county matchups in the first round. Who will it be this year?
Looking waaaaaaaay ahead: Edison will be the No. 1 seed and Mission Viejo will be the No. 2. Let the countdown begin.
La Habra v. Tustin?: Everybody is expecting a La Habra-Tustin rematch in the Southwest Division finals. I haven't seen Trabuco Hills play yet, but from what I've heard, the Mustangs might have a say as to whether or not either the Highlanders or Tillers get back to the finals. And don't forget about Cypress.
