Randle sparks Brethren Christian victory
HUNTINGTON BEACH Brethren Christian won its second consecutive game, beating Arrowhead Christian, 20-3, on Friday night.
The Warriors (4-3) dominated the Eagles (5-2) early. Brethren Christian controlled the majority of the first quarter by running 13 plays on its opening drive that ended with a 1-yard touchdown run by Ryan Randle.
On the first Eagles possession, the Warriors forced an interception on the third play.
The workhorse for the Warriors was running back Randle, who scored twice and had 197 rushing yards on 37 carries. He also had an interception of Eagles quarterback Jeremy Eldridge and caught a pass for 17 yards.
Randle had a good supporting cast in his offensive line, and the Warriors defense provided excellent support.
The Warriors defense only allowed 68 yards of offense in the first half and 169 yards for the game. They didn’t allow a touchdown and, when the Eagles advanced inside the Warriors 20-yard line, Brethren Christian stiffened and forced them to settle for a field goal.
The Warriors will be looking to extend their modest victory streak next week when they take on Sage Hill.
