Postseason: 2004, lost to Orange Lutheran, 21-3, semifinals of Div. VI playoffs

Coach: Pat Mahoney (24th year, 156-107-3); Dusan Ancich (1st year)

Outlook: One league coach called the Spartans "the great unknown" and with good reason. Dusan Ancich, the son of legendary coach Marijon, has joined the staff as co-coach with Mahoney. How will the players respond in what appears to be Mahoney's final year at Villa Park? That is the biggest concern to the opposing coaches.

Home stadium: El Modena High

Factoid: Dusan and Visko Ancich played for their father Marijon at Tustin High. All three have joined Villa Park's staff this season.
