Mission Viejo bounces back with 59-7 romp
Bridgford throws for 4 TDs as Diablos dominate Aliso Niguel.
ALISO VIEJO - A week after a difficult loss, Mission Viejo rebounded with a convincing South Coast League victory over Aliso Niguel, 59-7, at Aliso Niguel High on Friday.
"It's nice to get to get back to winning again," Diablos coach Bob Johnson said. "We've just got to take care of business each week now. We put ourselves in a little bit of a hole, we’ve got to start climbing out of it now."
Mission Viejo (6-1, 1-1) was led by Cal-bound quarterback Allan Bridgford, who put together yet another sterling stat line: 19 of 23 for 229 yards and four touchdowns.
For a quarter the Wolverines (0-6, 0-2) managed to harness the Diablos attack, but could only hold back the floodgates for so long.
In the second quarter, Mission Viejo scored on each of its four offensive possessions.
