Fountain Valley needs two new coaches
The Barons baseball coach and girls basketball coach have resigned.
Fountain Valley baseball coach Gerardo Gonzalez and girls basketball coach Dawn Lawler have resigned, Fountain Valley athletic director Ron LaRuffa announced.
La Ruffa said Lawler resigned because of teaching commitments and Gonzalez resigned because of family commitments.

Capo Valley hire
Suzi Strazzulla is the new girls soccer coach at Capistrano Valley. Strazzulla had been an assistant coach at Edison and at Long Beach State, and she played at Cal State Fullerton. She replaces Gui Gui Ferreira, who has moved out of California.
Brethren's new coach
Stella Guild is the new girls volleyball coach at Brethren Christian, replacing Jon Bahnsen, who stepped down to spend more time with his family but will continue to coach the boys volleyball program.
Guild is a graduate of the former Newport Christian High, where she led her high school team to a CIF championship and State CIF runner-up finish in 1984. She went on to play at Pepperdine and later on the professional four-woman beach tour. She coached girls and boys volleyball at Newport Christian in the early '90s and later coached the girls team at Malibu High.
