Tustin pulls away late to defeat Beckman
TUSTIN -- Tustin used a standard formula — a strong ground game and stout defense — to defeat Beckman, 20-6, on Friday night at Tustin High.
The Tillers (2-2) were led by Tyler Siudzinski, who carried 30 times for 103 hard-earned yards.
After a missed field goal by Beckman’s Ryan Molina, the Patriots were served a heavy dose of Siudzinski to start the second period. He touched the ball seven consecutive times as Tustin got on the board, courtesy of Siudzinski’s 3-yard blast with 4:55 left in the half.

Beckman responded with a drive deep into Tillers territory but was eventually turned away by the Tustin defense.
After taking over, Tustin’s junior QB Quinnton Roberson scored on a 69-yard keeper just before the end of the half.
Beckman closed the gap to 14-6 with 10:33 left in the game when quarterback Cameron Biedgoly found Molina in the corner of the end zone on a fourth-and-22 play.
The Patriots held on defense, forcing Tustin to punt. As Beckman looked to even the score, Biedgoly was intercepted on fourth down by Edward Tandy, who returned it to the Beckman 5. Two plays later, Tandy put the game out of reach with his touchdown.
The Tillers compiled eight sacks as Andrew Scott and Greg Hoyd spent most of the night harassing Biedgoly.
