Tustin rolls over Brea Olinda, 64-0
Tillers avenge last season's loss.
A year ago Tustin (3-3, 1-0) was eliminated from playoff contention on the last game of the season by the Wildcats, 28-15.
This season the Tillers wanted to make sure they didn’t overlook Brea Olinda (1-5, 0-1) again.
We wanted to punish them and beat ’em up,” Tustin offensive lineman Luis Rubio said. “It felt great because last year they knocked us out of the playoff and that hurt. Today we got some vengeance.”
Rubio and the rest of the Tillers offensive line overpowered the Wildcats allowing the backfield to roam wild. Tustin rushed for a combined 463 yards and eight touchdowns.
“We were manhandling them on offense all night,” Taylor Richardson said. “Our offensive line did a great job and opened up some big holes.”
Richardson, 103 yards, and Antony Wilkerson, 167 yards, both eclipsed the century mark on the ground. The Tillers were just as stifling on defense, which was led by Faitele Faafoi’s two sacks.
Tustin will take on Canyon at El Modena High next week in the top Century League matchup of the season.
