Turnovers key for Foothill
TUSTIN - Snagging five turnovers, Foothill forced its way past Beckman during a 14-10 victory Friday night at Tustin High.
Safety Will Greubel hauled in two of the Knights’ three interceptions, with senior Tanner Bryant grabbing the other with about a minute left.

“Turnovers, that was almost the whole game,” Greubel said.
Playing its opener, Beckman — the top-ranked team in the CIF-SS Southern Division — went ahead, 10-0, in the game’s first six minutes. Thanks to an interception and blocked punt, though, each of those drives began at Foothill’s 22.
After that, the Knights (1-1) shut down the Patriots (0-1), with Beckman totaling just 105 yards.
Late in the first quarter, Greubel jumped a passing route for his first pick, setting up a 9-yard touchdown by running back Trevor Oakley. The senior back scored again halfway through the second quarter to put Foothill ahead.
The Knights’ defense also collected two fumbles and had three sacks.
