The Register has made is selections for the 2013 All-County wrestling teams, player of the year and coach of the year.
The Register’s All-County teams were selected using a combination of coaches’ input and reporter observations.

ALL-COUNTY FIRST TEAM
MARTIN GARCIA
Laguna Hills, Soph., 106
Garcia won titles at the Carter Invitational, Mann Classic, Laguna Hills Invitational and a South Coast League title. Garcia finished second at CIF and Masters. He went 1-2 at the CIF State Tournament.
JAKE LANGENWALTER
Valencia, Sr., 113
Langenwalter was a finalist in seven tournaments, winning four, including the Empire League title. He was fourth at Five Counties, second at CIF and seventh at Masters. Langenwalter went 2-2 at the state tournament.
RANDY HOWE
Los Alamitos, Sr., 120
Howe struggled with injuries early in the season but was able to get things turned around. He won the Sunset League title, finished fifth at CIF to qualify for Masters, where he took the final spot in his weight to advance to state. He went 0-2 at the state tournament.
PETER CUNNINGHAM
Calvary Chapel, Jr., 126
Cunningham finished sixth at the El Dorado Invitational and fifth at the Zinkin Classic. He went 3-2 at the Temecula Valley Invitational, and was second at CIF and third at Masters. He went 2-2 at the state tournament.
ADAM ALVARADO
Calvary Chapel, Sr., 132
Alvarado, second-team All-County as a junior, was one of the best in the state at his weight. He won the El Dorado Invitational and the SoCal Challenge. He was fourth at the Temecula Valley Invitational and fifth at the Zinkin Classic. Alvarado was first at CIF, second at Masters and went 3-2 at the state tournament.
IAN MICHINOCK
Aliso Niguel, Sr., 138
Michinock was selected third-team All-County last season. He finished as the top-ranked wrestler in the county at his weight. Michinock won the South Coast League title and won a CIF title. Michinock went 2-2 at Masters.
LANDON MYERS
Yorba Linda, Sr., 145
Myers finished second at the El Dorado Invitational, fifth at the Las Vegas Holiday Classic and had first-place finishes at the Troy Invitational and the Dick Comly Invite. Myers won the Empire League title, finished second at CIF and sixth at Masters. He went 3-2 at the state tournament.
AARON NEGRETTE
Calvary Chapel, Jr., 152
Negrette placed seventh at the state tournament. During the season, he won titles at the El Dorado Invitational, Zinkin Classic and the SoCal Challenge. He was fourth at the Temecula Valley Invitational, won a CIF title and finished third at Masters.
COLIN NAVICKAS
Marina, Sr., 160
Navickas makes his second consecutive first-team All-County appearance. He finished first at the Westminster Cossareck Classic, SoCal Challenge, Five Counties Invitational and the Laguna Hills Invitational. Navickas won the Sunset League title and followed that with a CIF title and a second-place finish at Masters. He advanced to the quarterfinals at state and eventually placed sixth.
MAX KUMASHIRO
Los Alamitos, Sr., 170
Kumashiro made the cut to 170 after spending the majority of the season at 182 pounds. At 182, Kumashiro won the Irvine Invitational, placed third at the Mann Classic and Clinch Gear Tournament of Champions. He also went 3-2 at the Doc Buchanan Invitational and finished fourth at Five Counties. At 170, he won the Sunset League title, finished second at CIF and fourth at Masters. He went 3-2 at the state tournament.
JOHNNY BELTRAN
Servite, Jr., 182
In all competition leading up to Masters, Beltran was either first or second. He won the Westminster Cossareck Classic, Mann Classic, Peoria Invitational in Arizona and the Trinity League title. He was second at the La Costa Canyon tournament, Sierra Nevada Classic, Five Counties and at CIF. He was eighth at Masters and seventh at the state tournament. Beltran was third-team All-County as a sophomore.
MASON KUMASHIRO
Los Alamitos, Sr., 195
Kumashiro was on the Register’s first-team All-County team as a junior. This year at 195, he won every tournament he competed in through Masters. Kumashiro entered the state tournament with a record of 49-1. He advanced to the quarterfinals
and eventually finished
seventh.
JOSH CAMPOS
Santiago, Sr., 220
Campos recorded a pair of third-place finishes at the Mann Classic and the SoCal Challenge. He was first at the Cavalier Classic. Campos continued his success with a second-place finish at CIF and a third at Masters. Campos went 2-2 at the state tournament.
AHMAD SUNDA
Canyon, Sr., 285
Sunda started the season with a sixth-place finish at the Edison Beach Bash. He finished third at the Ed Springs Invitational and the Clinch Gear Tournament of Champions. He was the Outstanding Upper Wrestler at the Nogales SuperChamps Tournament. Sunda was second at Five Counties, second at CIF and third at Masters. He went 4-2 at the state tournament.
