    OCVarsity.com

SAN CLEMENTE Brendan Chambers threw for five touchdowns and rushed for one to lead Saddleback Valley Christian to a 55-34 victory against Capistrano Valley Christian in a nonleague game at San Clemente High on Friday night.

Chambers connected with five different receivers, including Christopher Gipe who converted 160 yards into three touchdown receptions.

With 43 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Gipe secured the victory for Saddleback Valley Christian (3-0) after recovering a CVC fumble on a kickoff return and returning it  for a 30-yard touchdown.

Gipe scored his first receiving touchdown early in the second quarter.

CVC (2-1) responded as Andre Argaez rushed 17 yards for a touchdown to take a 27-26 lead.   CVC scored again with 9 seconds left before the half, but it would be the last scoring drive of the game for the Eagles.
