MISSION VIEJO El Toro rode a dominating ground attack to a 56-20 triumph Friday over Woodbridge in a Sea View League game played at Trabuco Hills High.
Senior running back Jai Morris paced the Chargers (4-3, 2-0) with 211 yards rushing and five touchdowns on 17 carries, including four rushes of 20 or more yards.
Led by quarterback David Ingram, the Warriors (0-7, 0-2) kept their mistakes to a minimum but simply couldn’t keep pace with El Toro’s explosiveness.
During a 12-minute span from the middle of the first quarter to halfway through the second, El Toro scored 35 points thanks to a barrage of big plays.
A 60-yard run by Morris and Aaron Grey’s 74-yard reception on a screen pass highlighted the Chargers’ offensive fireworks.
