Argonauts dare, win

GARDEN GROVE Aaron Nelson and the rest of the Garden Grove defense dared Bolsa Grande to throw the ball all night, at times lining 10 defenders within 3 yards of the line of scrimmage. The dare paid off as the Argonauts defense dominated in a 27-8 victory over the Matadors on Friday night in the Garden Grove League season finale for each team.
Nelson had three of the Argonauts’ 10 tackles for losses, and Ryan Russomanno added 1 1/2 sacks as the defense allowed only three completions and held the Matadors (3-7, 1-4) to zero yards total offense in the first quarter.
The Argonauts (6-4, 4-1) took control of the game by scoring TDs on their final three first-half possessions.
The balanced attack was lead by Sean Young, who ran for 132 yards and three TDs, and quarterback James Reza who passed for 150 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown pass to Danny Crisantos.
