FIRST TEAM

Frankie Shebby, Mater Dei, Jr., OH

Shebby continued her development into one of the county's top players. Her performances in some of Mater Dei's top matches were astounding. In a pair of victories against Santa Margarita, she totaled 56 kills and 18 digs. "In the big matches, she certainly set the tone," Mater Dei coach Adam Cutrell said. She shared the Trinity League MVP honor with Sara Hughes.

Tia Scambray, Dana Hills, Jr., OH

Scambray, who earned fifth team all-county honors last season, quickly established herself as one of the top attackers in the county. Scambray was selected the South Coast League MVP as the Dolphins claimed the league title and made a deep run in the CIF-SS Division 1AA playoffs, losing to Redondo Union in five sets in the semifinals. She recently committed to Washington.

Brittany Ptak, Santa Margarita, Sr., MB

Ptak, who is headed to Princeton, helped the Eagles become one of the top teams in the county. She was a force in the middle (206 kills and .411 hitting percentage). She earned first-team All-Trinity League honors and coach Katy Daly credits Ptak's "positive attitude and high volleyball knowledge" in helping contribute to the team's success this season. Ptak earned second team all-county honors last season.

Crissy Jones, Los Alamitos, Jr., MB

Jones makes her second consecutive first-team appearance, proving to be one of the more dominant forces at the net. She recorded 256 kills, 66 blocks and had a hitting percentage of .385. She shared Sunset League MVP honors and she recently committed to Washington.

Kelsey Humphreys, Corona del Mar, Sr., S

Every successful team has a smart setter and that fits for Corona del Mar and Humphreys. Humphreys, who is headed to Stanford, helped lead the Sea Kings to the Pacific Coast League title and a berth in the CIF-SS Division 1AA semifinals. With Humphreys in the lead, CdM finished fourth at the Durango Fall Classic and third at the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions. She earned second team all-county honors last season.

Hannah Gleason, Tesoro, Sr., L

Gleason's role in the backrow can't be overlooked. Her passing and digs proved to be a good reason why the Titans were able to get the ball to their assortment of attackers throughout the season. "Her instincts were so good and she was able to come up with so many digs for us," Tesoro coach Rich Polk said. "During our playoff run, she was able to control the court in serve/receive and she frustrates teams with so many touches she gets."

Kelly Claes, El Dorado, Jr., Opp

Claes missed the early stages of the season after suffering a stress fracture in her back. Once she returned, she helped lead the Golden Hawks to their ninth consecutive Century League title, their first CIF final appearance and a berth in the CIF Regionals. She played setter and opposite for El Dorado, finishing second on the team in kills, blocks and aces. She led El Dorado in assists. With Claes in the lineup, El Dorado went 13-1. She is committed to Long Beach St.
