Corona del Mar sweeps for the victory

Evan Dean’s 13 kills helped the third-ranked Corona del Mar boys volleyball team remain perfect in the Pacific Coast League.
CdM (14-2, 3-0) defeated visiting Woodbridge, 25-21, 25-9, 25-17 Tuesday night. In three league games, the Sea Kings have yet to lose a game.
The Sea Kings will put their undefeated league record on the line Thursday night in the first of two league matches against ninth-ranked Beckman.
The winner takes over sole possession of first place.

No. 9 Beckman 3, University 1: Chris Long led the Patriots (17-3, 3-0) with 11 kills and Jeff Austin added eight in the 25-13, 25-13, 24-26, 25-15 road victory over the Trojans.
In the Sunset League
Fountain Valley 3, No. 7 Huntington Beach 2:The Barons recorded the upset with their 25-17, 20-25, 25-21, 18-25, 15-11 road victory. Both teams are now 2-1 in the Sunset League.
Trent Kersten led Fountain Valley with 14 kills. Kyle Bertram had 28 digs and Brandon Courtney had 43 assists.
In the Trinity League
No. 1 Santa Margarita 3, JSerra 0: The Eagles improved to 17-2 overall and 2-0 in the league with their 25-11, 25-15, 25-15 road victory over the Lions.
Spencer Buckley led Santa Margarita with 12 kills. JSerra falls to 1-3 in league matches.
No. 4 Mater Dei 3, Orange Lutheran 0: The Monarchs (16-1, 2-0) were led by John Zappia’s 11 kills in the 25-17, 25-23, 25-21 road victory.
In the Orange League
Laguna Beach 3, Estancia 0: The Breakers (11-10, 4-0) swept their fourth consecutive league opponent, defeating the visiting Eagles, 25-12, 25-14, 25-17.
Robbie McKnight led Laguna Beach with 13 kills and Austin Hillemann added 11.
In the Century League
Foothill 3, Villa Park 1: Jason Weedon and Tanner Ruhlen recorded 16 and 15 kills, respectively to lead the Knights (7-7, 4-1) to the 24-26, 25-18, 25-18, 25-18 road victory.
