Yancey guided the Cougars from a projected fourth-place finish after the Division I prelims to their first CIF-SS title since 1990.
Yancey also led Capo Valley to the South Coast League title and a first-place finish at the Millikan Relays.
The Cougars were 8-0 in dual meets and went wire-to-wire as the county’s top-ranked team. Yancey also joined a select group of coaches who have won CIF titles in swimming and water polo.
