The county's top senior players to take part in game at Glover Stadium.

Gerrit Cole(see stats) is expected to be selected in the first round of the Major League Baseball draft Thursday. Before that, the Orange Lutheran senior pitcher still has one more high school game to play.

Cole is tentatively scheduled to be the starting pitcher Tuesday for the North in the Orange County North-South All-Star Baseball Game at 7 p.m. at Glover Stadium at La Palma Park in Anaheim. Admission is $5. Proceeds from the game go to charities and scholarship funds supported by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Anaheim, which has organized and managed the game for 41 years.

Cole, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound right-hander, was 8-2 with a 0.46 ERA and 121 strikeouts in 75 2/3 innings. He signed a letter-of-intent with UCLA, and has been projected to be taken in the latter half of the first round of the MLB draft on Thursday.

Also scheduled to play for the North is Katella's Nick Ramirez, a pitcher-first baseman who signed with Cal State Fullerton. Ramirez batted .426 and was 10-1 with a 1.16 ERA.
