Spring football spotlight: Top returning wide receivers

OCVarsity.com

Top 10 returning receivers

1. Kevin Chandler, Mission Viejo
2007 stats: 63 catches, 935 yards, 8 touchdowns
Comment: The all-county receiver will have developed quite a rapport with his potential all-county quarterback by the fall.

2. Darryl Jenkins, Los Alamitos
2007 stats: 53 catches, 816 yards, 2 TDs
Comment: He is good enough to lead the county in catches or yards next season.

3. Paul Richardson, Los Alamitos
2007 stats: 32 catches, 573 yards, 9 TDs
Comment: This deep threat is a handful in the open field and might lead all receivers in scoring.

4. J.B. Green, Newport Harbor
2007 stats: 39 catches, 778 yards, 10 TDs
Comment:  Andrew McDonald's favorite target averaged 20 yards per catch and was clutch in some of the Sailors' biggest games.

5. Bronson Taylor, University
2007 stats: 30 catches, 560 yards, 6 TDs
Comment: He is that rare consistent, big-play receiver.

Note: Westminster's Aaron Garbutt was initally not on this list because of an oversight. He had 34 catches for 817 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2007. I would have ranked him No. 5.
