Coaches' predicted order of finish
1. Laguna Hills
Comment: The Hawks lost three four-year starters to graduation, but the defending Division IV-A champions have Lauren Engeln and Nicki Nakhaie, who are two proven clutch players, back to make another run at a league title.
2. University
Comment: The Trojans lost first team All-CIF guard Casey Gomez to graduation, but they have Lauren Hudash and Magdalena Usher back and Eunice Kin up from JV. University could be as strong or better than last year according to Trojans coach Bob Bernal.
3. Irvine
Comment: The Vaqueros return all their key players from last year's team, which reached the Division IV-1 quarterfinals.
4. Corona del Mar
Comment: Both of CdM's league victories came over Beckman last season.
5. Beckman
Comment: First-year coach Brady Richards takes over a team that went 3-16 and winless in league.
