Preview: Century League
A detailed look at the boys and girls teams, top players and important games.
Coaches' predicted order of finish
1. Canyon
Senior guard Jerime Anderson is the best player in the league, and one of the better players in the county, and the supporting cast should help keep the Comanches at or near the top of the league.
2. Villa Park
With only one senior on the roster, and he’s not a starter, the Spartans are young. But Clint Bozner and Mike Atwater are two very good sophomores who will help keep the Spartans in contention.
3. Brea Olinda
If Anderson is the league’s best player, the Wildcats’ Kyle Fogg is not far behind. Brea also has a top prospect in 6-foot-11 freshman Kyle Caudill.
4. Tustin
The Tillers will start as many as five sophomores. They will, as usual, be an aggressive, pressure-defense team.
5. El Dorado
Only two players have varsity experience, so it will be a season of growth for the Golden Hawks.
6. El Modena
The Vanguards will be a freewheeling-offense group that could be one of the better 3-point shooting teams in the county.
