Semifinals primer: Best potential matchups
Check out our lists for what already has been a memorable postseason.
FINALS MATCHUPS THAT ADAM MAYA WOULD PAY TO SEE:
Orange Lutheran vs. Servite: Servite is the only team to beat Orange Lutheran the past two years. Twice.
Orange Lutheran vs. Crespi: The Celts would have beaten two Trinity League teams to get here. Can they beat a third? In the past two years, there has not been a Trinity League team that has beaten three of the big four (Mater Dei, Orange Lutheran, Santa Margarita and Servite.)
Long Beach Poly vs. Servite: These teams might possess the two best defenses in Southern California.
El Dorado vs. Trabuco Hills: Both teams are league champs. They are the two best scoring defenses in the county, and each has a double-digit win streak. If they met, we'd find out who is really the best non-Pac-5 team in the county.
Fullerton vs. La Habra: You might have heard something about forfeits and a coin toss that involved these Freeway League teams. Now comes the league meeting that never happened during the regular season ... and these teams do not like each other.
Pacifica vs. Valencia: Tyler Ortiz. Wes Fletcher. If that's not enough, look no further than their Oct. 18 meeting: Valencia 21, Pacifica 20.
St. Margaret's vs. Saddleback Valley Christian: Which team will suffer its first loss of the season?
