O.C. All-Star Football Preview: Q&A with Petey Puga
The former La Habra receiver talks about taking part in the game.
La Habra wide receiver Pedro “Petey” Puga took the time to answer a few questions during preparations for Friday's Brea Lions Orange County All-Star Football Game.
Question: What does it mean to you to be invited to play in the All-Star game?
Petey Puga: It's actually a great feeling to get that phone call and the coach letting you know you made the All-Star game. It's something you grow up watching and always wanted to play in.
Q: What do you think the night of the game is going to be like?
Puga: Probably just the atmosphere is going to be a great feeling. Having 10 thousand fans just giving you motivation, and you want to play more and just bring out the best in you.
Q: As a receiver, how do you think you can help the team?
Puga: Probably just having the quarterback who can get me the ball and I can make plays out receiving the ball, as well.
Q: What is it like having Chris Morales as one of your quarterbacks in this game?
Puga: It's actually great. You have someone who can throw you the ball, not just someone who is going to lobby up the ball to you. He could put it (the football) on the spot, read the defense and put it (the football) where the defense isn’t going to kill you.
Q: What you do plan to do with the rest of your football career?
Puga: I plan to go Southern Utah University and be a wide receiver.
