Kickoff '08: Corona del Mar Sea Kings
Kickoff '08: Corona del Mar Sea Kings
OCVarsity previews football teams for the 2008-09 season.
Corona del Mar
Last season: 3-6, 1-2 (tie-third place)
Postseason: 2006, lost to Cypress, 24-20, in Southern Division quarterfinals
Coach: Jason Hitchens (first year)
Outlook: The rebuilding process begins for the Sea Kings with Hitchens taking over as head coach. Corona del Mar has six starters back, but only two on offense. The Sea Kings have a lot of athleticism, but they are young and won’t be as physically strong as some of the more experienced teams.
Home stadium: Newport Harbor High
Factoid: The Sea Kings averaged 14.1 points per game on offense last season
Strongest: Noah Molnar
Fastest: Dillon Norton/Trevor McKeen
School record: 232-229-12
