Five questions with Ben Gomez:

Question: Who is the NFL player you see yourself playing like?
Ben Gomez:
My favorite player is Walter Payton. I just loved how hard he worked. He was always the first guy out there and the last one off the field. I try to work hard on and off the field, be a good role model.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do, your favorite part of the game?
BG:
The best thing is when we’re on defense and we get a turnover. There’s nothing like shutting down the offense. I appreciate a good interception or fumble. It’s a good feeling shutting down the offense.

Q: In your dream situation, where will you be a year from now?
BG:
I’d love to attend USC and play football there. I have season tickets and we go every year. My dad has had tickets for four years and I’ve attended the last three.

Q: What are your personal goals this season?
BG:
I’d like to make first team (all-league) defense or offense. It doesn’t really matter. If I could do either one of those it’d be a great accomplishment.

Q: What is something people don’t know about you?
BG:
I’m not a nerd but I’m a big gamer, Madden and NCAA. I like the Chargers. I’d appreciate it if they had a better quarterback. In the video game he throws a lot of picks.
